The latest jobs report showed the US economy added 321,000 jobs in November, which was significantly more than expected. Wages were also up, which, when combined with low fuel costs means November was a pretty sweet month to be an American consumer. This is being talked about as a reason that congress may embrace some kind of bipartisan plan to legislate some stuff, but I have my doubts. If anything is actually done I’m sure at the top of the list is some good ole corporate tax breaks.
The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.8%.
